Tile Mountain

Headquartered in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, Tile Mountain is a one-stop online shop for floor and wall tiles. They have over 100 years of combined experience in the industry and work with all major manufacturers. They were a pleasure to work with, and we are proud to say that they were given zero waste to landfill status at the end of the project.

Before we stepped in, the Tile Mountain team were using an array of different disposal methods to remove office waste, wood, cardboard and plastic from their site, but not all of it was completely separated. We decided to set up a bespoke waste management plan for them that focused on diverting their waste away from landfill and ensured their waste worked harder for them.

We did the following:

With the investment in new equipment and the implementation of new waste management strategies, we have managed to improve recycling rates and revenue across the board. We’ve also managed to reduce transport costs and frequency, contributing to an improved overall carbon footprint. Finally, we’ve increased staff recycling engagement and knowledge to ensure office recycling rates stay high. All in all, it was a job well done.

Here’s what the client had to say: “When the board decided that we need to look at our waste and recycling policy, we asked Patrick Cox and his team at Brown Recycling for advice and recommendations. Through their efforts, we have installed machinery that recycles all our cardboard and plastic waste and now have zero waste that goes to a landfill site. Brown Recycling has been instrumental in helping Tile Mountain team in the journey of improving our environmental credentials.”
